About the documentary

Lo que nadie quiere ver brings us closer to the reality of homelessness through the stories of Mamen, Pepe, Javi and Latyr, four people who experienced homelessness for years and who are now rebuilding their lives with access to housing and support.

Over 22 minutes, the documentary confronts a reality that too often remains invisible: what it means to live without a home, the prejudice and violence people experiencing homelessness face, and the difference that housing and personalised support can make.

From lived experience to European action

The screening in Brussels will provide a space to move from the experiences portrayed in the documentary to a broader discussion about the solutions needed to prevent and end homelessness in Europe.

Bringing together people with lived experience, European institutions, civil society and organisations working on homelessness and housing, the discussion will explore how European policies can translate into concrete measures centred on access to housing, rights and personalised support.

The event will also provide an opportunity to strengthen dialogue between actors working at European level and to ensure that homelessness remains part of the wider debate on housing and social inclusion.
